Hello, AORN Madison Chapter 5003 Members!

We hope you have been enjoying a wonderful summer!  We cannot believe it is already time to plan our upcoming year of events for our local chapter!  Your 2025-2026 Chapter Officers met recently and made plans for the upcoming year. Our decisions were guided by successful events in years past and our Chapter Accountability Standards as set by AORN National.  The exciting lineup of events includes family friendly events, networking and socializing events, volunteer opportunities, chapter meetings, CE offerings, our annual business meeting, our local CE Conference co-hosted with WISPAN, Global Conference & Expo, and more!  We look forward to seeing you!

PS: As you may have heard we have updated our Chapter website via Nursing Network made possible by AORN.  Your Chapter Officers are learning this new platform alongside you so keep in touch with your successes and challenges!  We have plans to update our social media pages in the upcoming month or two (too many “bots” in our followers) so watch for invites to those via Facebook and Instagram in the near future.

Here is the blueprint of our current plan so you can “Save the Dates!”

September 3rd (Wednesday) 4:30-6:30pm: Kick Off Networking Event and Planning Meeting - we had such a great time at Cafe Hollander in Greenway Station back in June we wanted to bring that energy into this season and decided to repeat the venue! We hope to see you there and you can share your ideas for our upcoming year of events!

October 11th (Saturday) Time TBD likely midmorning: Family Fun Day at the Pumpkin Patch

November Date(s) TBD, (likely Wednesday the 5th 4-6pm): AORN Madison Chapter 5003 Gives Back - Volunteer opportunities at The River Food Pantry

December 3rd (Wednesday) 4:30-6:30pm: Annual Business Meeting (update Chapter By-Laws and Chapter Accountability Standards) and Holiday Soiree at a local Winery location TBD

January 7th (Wednesday) 4:30-6pm: Chapter Meeting (4:30-5pm) and CE (5-6pm) offering by Industry Partner Sponsor TBD - food and drink provided (location ideas welcomed)

February 7th (Saturday) 8am-4pm: Annual Winter Conference Co-Hosted by Wisconsin Society of Perianesthesia Nurses (WISPAN) and Madison AORN Chapter 5003

March 4th (Wednesday) 4:30-6pm: Chapter Meeting (4:30-5pm) and CE (5-6pm) offering by Industry Partner Sponsor TBD - food and drink provided (location ideas welcomed)

April 11-14th AORN Global Conference and Expo: Join us in New Orleans for the 2026 event!  President Darlene Murdock has chosen the theme of: Lighting the Way  

May 6th (Wednesday) 4:30-6pm: Chapter Meeting (4:30-5pm) and CE (5-6pm) offering by Industry Partner Sponsor TBD - food and drink provided (location ideas welcomed); Willingness to Serve Forms Sent out to membership for Officer and Board Member positions.

June 3rd (Wednesday) 4:30-6:30pm: Annual End of Year Celebration with announcement of 2026-2027 Chapter Officers and Board Members - the 2025 event was a great success so we are looking to top that energy and attendance!  Let us know your location ideas!
